| Advanced Pre-emptive Diagnostics for Airconditioning Systems |
Prevent breakdowns and enhance the life of your airconditioning system.
To prevent breakdowns and enhance the life of your airconditioning system, we offer you a wide range of diagnostic tools. Eddy Current Testing (ECT) is one such tool that particularly addresses chiller and condenser tube damage. A tailor-made inspection solution to suit your chiller tubes, ECT is an electromagnetic, non-destructive diagnostic process that detects corrosion, erosion, breakage and leakage in the chiller heat exchanger tubes. Even those that are not visible to the human eye. Infact, performing ECT on chiller tubes every few years helps locate defects at an early stage, before they bring the entire system down.
Advantages
Following are the advantages of periodic Eddy Current Testing:
- Reduced downtime
- No disaster situations
- Reduced repeat failures
- Increased life of the AC system
- Better cost recovery on your investment
- Lower cost of repairs
- Efficient operation leading to power saving
- Full capacity realization
- Shell corrosion prevention
How does Eddy Current Testing work?
Eddy Current detects surface-breaking or corrosion losses and variations in material composition. It estimates the life expectancy of the condenser and chiller tubes and up to 500 tubes can be checked in just 3 - 4 days. The inspection costs are also marginal compared to the losses due to system failure.
ECT conforms to ASTM Standards E243, E426 and E571 and is globally accepted as the most reliable test for preventing tube breakdown and failure.
The most common tube damages that can be detected using Eddy Current Testing are:
- ID Corrosion
- ID Pit
- OD Corrosion
- Support Wear
- ID Pitting
- Radial Crack
- Zipper Crack
- Freeze Bulge
- Condensate Grooving
