Energy is a critical resource, and the rising costs of power can have a major impact on the bottom-line of any corporate or commercial organisation. Airconditioning constitutes nearly 60-65% of the power consumption in office buildings and this figure rises to as high as 75% in hotels and hospitals.
Blue Star has been focusing on energy-efficiency in airconditioning and is committed to the cause. It has launched several energy-efficient airconditioning products over the past decade, which have been appreciated by the customers.
The design of an airconditioning system is often based on an extreme condition of maximum load and highest ambient temperature. However, research shows that this condition called peak load occurs only 1% of the time and designing the system based on this is highly energy inefficient. Blue Star’s airconditioning design operates on a concept of Integrated Part Load Value (IPLV), which takes into account the number of hours of operation at various loads and optimises equipment selection at part load, where the equipment is expected to operate for the maximum period. This ensures energy-efficiency at the design stage itself.
Further, Blue Star also offers auxiliary energy saving devices such as variable speed drives and heat recovery wheels in the plants installed and managed by the Company.
Enhancing Indoor Air Quality
Research reveals that indoor air can be up to 10 times more polluted than outdoor air. Studies prove that in the long run, poor indoor air quality affects both health and productivity, which translates into increased absenteeism and lower productivity.
Blue Star has deep understanding of indoor air quality management and has the ability to control variables such as suspended particulate matter, dust, harmful biological contaminants, bacteria, chemical vapours and odours. Blue Star offers a complete range of air management services including fresh air management, energy recovery ventilators, duct cleaning, UVC emitters and air balancing and leakage detection.
