Modern office buildings often have glass facades with a high density of computers and lights. This leads to a high sensible heat load of up to 90% as against a normal 70%. In addition, most Indian cities experience hot summers lasting 2-4 months with temperatures soaring to 45 degrees C as against a normal 35 degrees C.

Conventional airconditioning systems may not be efficient enough since they are designed for 70% sensible heat removal capacity with an indoor air quantity of 400 CFM per ton.
