Secondary Packaging Solutions

Blue Star E&E offers a wide range of secondary packaging solutions including various hooding and wrapping systems. These premium systems address various industrial automation needs for secondary packaging. Blue Star E&E meets or exceeds industry standards for quality and safety to ensure value for the end user. These flexible systems ensure the quality of the product and deliver the best in adequate time frames.

Hooding Systems

Blue Star E&E provides advanced and effective systems for industrial hooding purposes. Hooding is recommended for extremely unstable loads, tightness requirements and strong logistical constraints.

The two methods used in hooding are shrink hooding and stretch hooding. In shrink technology, the removal of the cover is followed by a film heating step, which allows it to retract, ensuring maintenance and protection of the load. With stretch technology, the cover is stretched before covering the load. The elastic memory of the film allows the cover to press the load and ensure its maintenance.

Some of the notable features are:

  • Over 150-200 cycles per hour, depending on the machine
  • Protection against mechanical aggression, UV, etc
  • Film rigidity and load stability
  • Waterproof protection up to six sides
  • Fits to mixed production with load height variation
  • Optimised ergonomics for operation and maintenance
  • Safety of the load and product
  • Operator safety
  • Suitable for industries such as FMCG, food, paper, cardboard, chemicals, household appliances, glass and others

Wrapping Systems

Blue Star E&E provides advanced and robust systems for industrial wrapping purposes. This process responds directly to cost and space objectives. It adapts to all formats and allows packaging up to five sides of the load. Wrapping is most often used with stretch film, but can also be implemented with shrink film to provide reinforced load retention.

In shrink technology, the removal of the cover is followed by a film heating step, which allows it to retract, ensuring load maintenance and protection. In case of stretch technology, the cover is stretched before wrapping the load.

Some of the notable features are:

  • Double control of the pre-stretch film and its lay-on force on delicate loads
  • Capable of adjusting position and a number of wrapping turns according to the nature and dimension of the load
  • Film rigidity and stability of the load
  • Dust-proof and waterproof
  • Optimised ergonomics for operation and maintenance
  • Operator safety
  • Suitable for industries such as FMCG, food, paper, cardboard, chemicals and others
