At Blue Star, we are committed to empowering people and uplifting communities across India. With our deep expertise in cooling, purifying, and preserving essential resources – air, food, and water – we strive to make a positive impact across all sections of society. Our Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives focus on critical areas such as education, skill development, environment and sustainability, children’s and women’s health, and women’s empowerment. We pay special attention to improving the quality of life in communities surrounding our manufacturing facilities.
Our Presence
Established in 1982, the Blue Star Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Blue Star Limited, continues to lead efforts in education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation. These initiatives have evolved into structured programmes with long-term impact, strengthened by the active involvement of our employees who contribute their professional skills to support these causes. All other CSR activities of Blue Star are carefully planned, monitored, and evaluated by our dedicated CSR Committee and approved by the Board of Directors, ensuring that our efforts are meaningful, measurable, and sustainable.
Social Responsibility Projects for FY24 and FY25
At Blue Star, we believe that the potential of human ingenuity is boundless. As an organisation, we work to foster this spark in our people and their endeavours, and we seek to unlock and nurture talent across the communities we are associated with. 'Sitare' is a Blue Star Corporate Social Responsibility initiative for capacity development – through digital education initiatives for school children, vocational education, and skill-building for enhancing employability, and scholarships for deserving and needy students pursuing higher education. We are committed to making investments in and developing 'Sitare' as a programme to help children and youth who want to fulfil their potential through continuous learning with an aspiration to reach for the stars.
CSR Initiatives
National Apprenticeship Programme (NAPS)
As part of the Government of India’s NAPS, Blue Star offers students from diploma and degree backgrounds a blend of academic learning and hands-on industrial training. Apprentices are placed across our manufacturing facilities, gaining real-world experience and developing skills while receiving stipends that exceed minimum wage. Soft skills workshops, academic credit, and industry-readiness training further prepare them for long-term success.
